Tarma Peru

The city of Tarma is located approximately 230 km east of the city of Lima. It is located at 3,050m in the Tarma Valley, formed by the river of the same name on the eastern slope of the Cordillera de los Andes. In the Plaza de Armas are the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the Cultural Center Fortunato Cárdenas, the Museum of Culture and the Chapel of the Lord of the Jail. Another religious attraction is the Convent of the Poor Clares Sisters. From Tarma comes the Pampa Hermosa Trail, a hiking route through the Quechua, Suni, Puna and Yunga areas.
